The MA in European Studies is offered by the Institute of European Studies (Faculty of Social Sciences) at the University of Wroclaw. The curriculum of the programme focuses on EU institutions, law, economics and policies, as well as on specific aspects of European geopolitics, management and information society. Students will analyse problems related to EU policies, EU external relations, EU governance, the area of freedom, security and justice (AFSJ), and more. These topics will be approached in different ways, both with seminars, workshops, lectures and discussion sessions. Moreover, students will learn how the European Union works and get professional training for a career in diplomacy, international institutions, as well as business and the private sector. Additionally, the programme equips studetns with valuable skills, which they can use in the market.
The programme is conducted entirely in English by experts in their field, it lasts two years and is divided into four semesters. In order to graduate, students must complete 120 ECTS in up to four semesters and write a Master’s thesis. The programme also offers students the opportunity of spending a semester (or year) abroad under the Erasmus+ scheme.
To be eligible for this postgraduate programme, applicants need to hold a BA or MA in any subject. However, it would be beneficial to have a BA in Political Science, European Studies, International Relations, Law, Economics, Management, Humanities, Languages, or related subjects.

Programme Document
The MA in European Studies programme helps students develop skills relevant to their future employability. Graduates of the programme are specialists who are prepared to work as professionals in local and national government institutions, in EU institutions and other national and international cultural and social agencies as well as other international organisations. Moreover, the programme prepares graduates for working in public or private companies in Poland and other European countries. Graduates of the programme are also equipped to work in institutions of non-EU countries with extensive cooperation with the EU.

- With a MA in European Studies degree, you can also continue your studies at the doctoral level and pursue a PhD.
