In January and February, our staff and students continued to take part in research projects, public discussions, and academic initiatives focused on current European and international affairs. The first weeks of the year brought new publications, opportunities for students interested in careers in EU institutions, and engaging debates on contemporary geopolitical challenges. Dr. Jakub Bornio and MA Benj\u00e1min Lux published an article analyzing the rationalities behind Hungary\u2019s policy toward the Russo-Ukrainian war, while Prof. Maciej\u00a0Bachryj\u00a0presented a comparative study of media coverage of migrants during the 2021 EU\u2013Belarus border crisis. In January, students were invited to\u00a0participate\u00a0in an online\u00a0webinar\u00a0dedicated to internships and employment opportunities in European Union institutions. class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Academic achievements of our researchers were further highlighted with the publication of the book \u201cSports Diplomacy and the Politicization of Sport in Central and Eastern Europe and the Post-Soviet Space.\u201d Edited by Dr. Jakub Bornio, Micha\u0142 Banasiak, and Mieszko\u00a0Rajkiewicz, the work examines the complex relationship between sport and politics in the region and offers new insights into how sport can function as a tool of diplomacy and influence.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-button-group stk-block-button-group stk-block class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Our students also continued to achieve remarkable\u00a0successes. Natalia\u00a0Zdziarska\u00a0and Filip Szyma\u0144ski from the Institute were selected to join the elite Polish team\u00a0participating\u00a0in the\u00a0ConSIMium\u00a0project, a simulation of the decision-making process in the Council of the European Union.
