Guest lecture by prof. Usonova
We had the great pleasure of hosting Prof. Taalaigul Usonova from Ala-Too International University – AIU (Kyrgyzstan) for a lecture on European Union’s development assistance (ODA) to Central Asisa and its contributions to conflict mitigation, peace, and security. The lecture sparked an engaging discussion with students, who actively participated with thoughtful questions. A huge thank you to Prof. Usonova for sharing her expertise with us! 📚

Research Grant WEAVE UNISONO in a trilateral cooperation
Exciting news!🎉 The Department of Social Sciences at the University of Wroclaw will be implemented a research grant Weave Unisono in a trilateral cooperation between the German agency DFG, Austrian FWF and Polish agency NCN. The managers of a research project entitled « The Domestic Politics of EU Action against Democratic Backsliding » are prof. Michael Blauberger (Paris Lodron University in Salzburg), prof Aleksandra Maatsch (University of Wroclaw) and prof. Arndt Wonka (University of Bremen). This is the second Weave Unisono project currently implemented at the Faculty of Social Sciences and the first in trilateral cooperation! 🔬📚

Dr. Ewa Strzelecka at Aurora International Peace Conference
Dr. Ewa Strzelecka participated in the Aurora International Peace Conference on The Role of Higher Education in Peacebuilding, held at Universität Innsbruck from 17-21 February 2025. She presented her paper Empowering Peace Dialogue through Academia: A Case Study of the Peace Women Research Project in Yemen’s Conflict Transformation, highlighting the vital role of academia in fostering dialogue and advancing peacebuilding efforts. This major academic gathering brought together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to explore how universities can contribute to conflict transformation, social justice, and sustainable peace.
