Erasmus+ BIP Tallinn Call for Applications

city view of Tallinn from above

Our Institute has been once again invited to join the one-week-long Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program at the University in Tallinn, Estonia. Therefore, we open a call for applications! The course includes an interactive learning environment, group work, a lot of independent research, and working with others. The physical part of the programme is planned to take place for 5 days (15/04 – 19/04) and the virtual part has to be completed by the students as an e-course before the physical meeting.

Name of the BIP: Political History and Society of Baltic States in the 20th Century (4 ECTS)
Target group: BA students, but MA are welcome too

The course looks at Baltic States during the 20th century – their development through history. The focus is on society and politics, history and its impact, and other related topics. The Baltic States spent most of the century under foreign rule, this will be a big part of the discussions. The course also connects to other parts of the world that have similar experiences, for comparison and mutual understanding. The experiences of the Baltic States are unique in a way but also very relatable to other former Soviet States, for those impacted by Soviet Union or foreign rule. The course is focused on the 20th century but also looks at modern issues – the war in Ukraine is related to 20th century history and society.
